Windows Server 2025 is the latest LTSC release from Microsoft. It brings new features for security, performance, hybrid management and licensing. In this article, you’ll find what’s new, a comparison with previous versions, and hosting advice for running Windows Server 2025 in the Netherlands.
Hybrid Cloud & Azure Integration
Windows Server 2025 improves hybrid integration even further. You can now manage your servers through Azure Arc, use pay-as-you-go licensing, and combine on-premises and cloud workloads more easily. This helps you stay flexible and reduce costs.

Security & Identity
Security is stronger than ever. Windows Server 2025 enables Credential Guard by default on supported hardware, improves Active Directory, and extends encryption standards such as TLS 1.3 and AES-256. Together, these changes protect credentials and data more effectively.

Performance, Scalability & Innovation
Performance also takes a big leap. Windows Server 2025 supports larger VMs, more logical processors, NVMe over Fabrics and better integration with Azure Monitor and telemetry tools.
